“Our team is honored to play a part in the growth of Centenary College, and we are grateful that the Board of Trustees had faith in us to bring the Bicentennial Village to life.” said Justin Sevier, Vintage Homes and VAS Construction Managing Partner. “With the investment and commitment of local sub-contractors, suppliers, and business owners, this project finished on time and under budget. We are extremely proud of that!”

Centenary College Student Housing Bicentennial Village – Shreveport, LA

Project Year: 2025

Architect: Pecot & Company

VAS Construction and Vintage Realty were selected to develop Bicentennial Village, Centenary College’s new student housing complex. This commercial construction project that opened in August of 2025 included modern, high-quality housing for students.

Located behind Centenary Square on Kings Highway in Shreveport, LA, Bicentennial Village is now complete. The project features four three-story buildings arranged around a shared plaza, with each floor designed as a six-bedroom unit offering private and shared rooms, three bathrooms, full-sized kitchen appliances, a washer and dryer, and an additional mini-fridge in each bedroom. The first floor of each building was built to be fully accessible for students with mobility needs.

Construction began in March 2025, and remarkably, just six months later, Centenary College of Louisiana celebrated the grand opening of the Village on August 18, 2025. More than 100 people attended the celebration, which marked the first completely new building on campus since 2002 and the first new student residences since 1968.

The project represents a $6 million investment in the local economy and provides much-needed space for Centenary’s growing student population. At full capacity, the Village can house up to 96 students. Two of the four buildings were ready for student move-in on opening day, with the remaining two scheduled for completion shortly thereafter.

The construction and finishing touches—including landscaping, a central gazebo, and interior detailing—were handled by VAS Construction, LLC in partnership with Vintage Homes and a team of local subcontractors and suppliers. Their efforts ensured that the project stayed on schedule and was ready in time for students to move in before the fall semester.

“Opening the Village during our Bicentennial year is an exciting development for students as it shows Centenary’s dedication to honoring our past while building spaces that will shape the next century of student life,” said Sam Brocato ’26, Student Government Association president.

Dr. Christopher Holoman, president of Centenary College, added, “As the first completely new building completed since 2002, it is a wonderful beginning to Centenary’s third century.”

Bicentennial Village now offers students a unique blend of privacy, community, and convenience, reinforcing Centenary’s commitment to quality campus living and marking a milestone in the College’s ongoing growth.
