Shreveport Home Builder – Vintage Construction Group
Vintage Construction Group’s Mission as a leading Shreveport home builder is to develop homes and communities that uphold the values of home buyers and increase in value over time. Our staff is dedicated to creating communities that are right for the particular environment while also fulfilling the homeowner’s need for comforting, convenient and energy-efficient homes. From the design phase to after move-in, the Vintage Construction Group (VCG) team is committed to your ultimate enjoyment of the home. Owners can start with their own custom plan or start from scratch with something as simple as a napkin sketch. Before construction begins, owners are provided detailed cost information, as well as a construction and selection schedule which serves as their road map for job progress. Once construction begins, the owner will find a Vintage Construction Group team member checking the job daily to ensure timely completion and impeccable quality.
A few of our Professional Associations include:
In August of 2016, VCG was named to The LSU 100: Fastest Growing Tiger Businesses. The LSU 100 is a highly competitive program that identifies, recognizes and celebrates the 100 fastest growing Tiger-owned or Tiger-led businesses in the world. In addition to celebrating the success of the honorees, the LSU 100 provides a forum to pass lessons on to the next generation of LSU entrepreneurs.
Vintage Construction Group, formerly known as Vintage Residential, was founded by the owners of Vintage Realty Company, David Alexander and Alvin Childs, in July of 2006. In 1987, Vintage Realty Company, one of the south’s most successful full service commercial real estate firms was born. Vintage Realty specializes in development, property management, and brokerage/leasing of professional office, medical, industrial, retail, and multi-family properties. The hard work and dedication from David, Al, and their employees has made Vintage Realty a cornerstone company of the south. This same dedication and commitment has continued with Vintage Construction Group, LLC. Since 1987, David and Al passed on many opportunities to help develop and grow residential markets in Northwest Louisiana. So with the creation of Vintage Construction Group, these opportunities and visions can now become realities. The homes that fill these communities are carefully designed and are built with quality materials by qualified individuals. Our goal is to mirror the success of Vintage Realty by making Vintage Construction Group one of the south’s leading residential development firms. As Vintage Construction Group has grown, we have also expanded to manage select commercial construction projects. In 2013, VCG built the clubhouse, gym and pool area inside Provenance Community. And, in 2014, we were awarded two new commercial projects – the Clubhouse at the David Toms 265 Golf Academy and the Provenance Veterinary Hospital.
In 2006, Justin Sevier and David Alexander formed Vintage Construction Group to achieve their goal of detailed construction work and community development in the south. As Managing Partner, Justin manages all projects including new homes, luxury developments, commercial construction, and workforce housing communities.
Before coming to Vintage, he worked for two and a half years in Baton Rouge for Louisiana’s largest homebuilder, PCC Homes, where he served as Project Supervisor on three of South Louisiana’s most successful subdivisions. All three subdivisions were located in Livingston Parish and ranged in size from 130 to 220 individual lots. PCC Homes was acquired by D.R Horton out of Fort Worth, TX in March of 2006, and Justin chose to pursue his goals with the Vintage family in May.
Justin graduated Magna Cum Laude from LSU in the fall of 2003 with a degree in Construction Management and a minor in Business Administration.
In 2011, Justin Sevier was named to the Top 40 under 40 by Professional Builder Magazine – a national award. In 2012, the Shreveport–Bossier Chamber of Commerce offices and The Forum Magazine named him Top 40 under 40 in Shreveport for his community and business contributions.
Pam Smith joined Vintage Realty Company in 2004 as an assistant to owner and founder, Alvin Childs, Jr. In 2008, she joined Vintage Construction Group as an office administrator. Before coming to Vintage, she lived in Dallas, Texas.
Pam has worked in the home building industry since 1991 serving as accounting supervisor, closing coordinator and office manager for both volume builders as well as custom builders.
Ashley I. Powers
Ashley Powers graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 1999. Though his early career focused primarily on multi-family housing, he enjoys working on a variety of residential and commercial projects from remodeling to custom home building. His years of experience in both the construction and insurance industries have allowed Ashley to develop a solid background in project management and sales, including planning, scheduling, communication, contractor coordination, budgeting, personnel management and owner relations.
Thomas Johnson brings a wealth of practical and experiential knowledge of custom home building to Vintage Construction Group. As the superintendent for Vintage’s newly developed high end custom home building division, he uses the wisdom and skills he has learned through his years in construction which began in 1996. He started his profession as a general laborer, but soon began a carpenter apprentice in 1997. It was on the job where he learned valuable carpentry skills, such as concrete finishing, framing, and trim carpentry.
After working for a local builder which specialized in high-end custom homes as a carpenter and superintendent, he ventured out by receiving his residential contractor’s license, as well as selling and installing prefinished custom cabinetry in 2008. It was this venture that eventually lead him to Vintage when he started working with them as a sub-contractor. After a couple of years in this capacity, it seemed like a perfect fit for Thomas to join the Vintage family.
It is Thomas’ experience, attention to detail and integrity that makes him an extremely valuable member of the Vintage Construction Group team.

Marcia joined the team in 2016. Previously, she was employed as a Claims Adjuster in the auto insurance industry for 10 years before starting a family and staying home to raise kids for 11 years. Right before joining VCG she also worked with 911 which gave her great training for the occasional home building emergency! While staying home she gained an obsession with HGTV, so when the opportunity to join VCG arose, she was thrilled. She loves the home building world and loves to see the homes transform from beginning to end. Marcia is married with two kids and enjoys vacationing in Wyoming and Montana.
